We are all enthusiastic about the modern township plan which is to be developed in Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) by planning agency CIDCO. NAINA is going to be bigger than Mumbai city with all modern facilities of a technocity. CIDCO, which is special planning authority for NAINA, has planned to develop a modern township. It has taken up the pilot project of 38 sq. km. out of the 600 sq. km. of the NAINA, close to the new airport in Panvel taluka for the development of a odern township. NAINA model requires the participation of people who will get developed spaces, along with compensatory floor space index (FSI), in return for the land they give up. It is claimed that NAINA will emerge as a bigger city than Mumbai and will have all modern facilities. NAINA has 20% more area than Mumbai and it has facilities like an International Airport, Raiwalys and a 10-lane highway among others. NAINA will increase the boundaries of Navi Mumbai. The boundaries of Navi Mumbai that had been till Panvel so far, have now reached Khopoli and Karjat. With NAINA and other development happening across, Navi Mumbai is set to emerge as the technocity of not only India but also of the world.
